Clinical Instructor

Dr. Oji RN, DNP, FNP-BC earned her Masters Degree at University of Texas Health Science Center Houston and her doctorate from Duke University, North Carolina. She currently is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She applies her extensive simulation education background in the classroom to teach excellent and precise hands-on skills. Her passion is helping advanced practitioners and students build confidence in learning procedures and clinical skills. She is a follower of Christ and her world view is based on biblical principles.

Dr. Ofonime Bleess DNP, RN, FNP-BC, ENP-C is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Post Masters’ Certificate in Emergency Medicine/Trauma and DNP from University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. She currently works at TeamHealth as an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner. Over the past two years, she has assisted Dr. Oji with skills lab bringing her excellent skills and procedures knowledge. She has worked as a clinical faculty in a Nursing School in Houston and is member of the American Nurses’ Association.

Mrs. Malak Juarez MSN, RN, FNP-BC is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Post Masters’ Certificate in Emergency Medicine/Trauma from University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. She worked as a faculty/instructor at Baylor College of Medicine Family & Community Health. She currently works at TeamHealth as an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner. She is a strong healthcare services professional and enjoys teaching advanced diagnostics and skills to advanced practice students and providers. In her free time, she enjoys family time, watching sports and traveling.

Ms. Micralyn Wiechman RN, FNP-C, ENP is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Post Masters’ Certificate in Emergency Medicine/Trauma from the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. She currently works at an Urgent Care in Georgia. Over the past two years, she has assisted Dr. Oji with skills lab and has thoroughly enjoyed it. She believes an eagerness to learn and to be present are some of the best qualities a student and teacher can share. Outside of teaching, she enjoys traveling, trivia, movies and reading.

Mr. Jeremy Vu MSN, RN, FNP-C, ENP is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Post Masters’ Certificate in Emergency Medicine/Trauma from University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. He currently works at TeamHealth as an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner. He enjoys teaching and loves to see his students excel in their field. Aside from his nursing life he is a foodie that enjoys traveling, biking, and learning.

Mr. Francisco Ayala, MSN, RN, FNP- C is a Family Nurse Practitioner from University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. He currently practices family medicine in a private practice clinic in Houston, TX where he performs numerous hands on procedures. He has excellent knowledge in primary care skills and serves as a clinical instructor in the procedures workshop of a graduate nursing program in Houston TX. His passion is teaching psychomotor skills in academia and improving student’s clinical knowledge base.

Kenneth Howard is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and graduated from University of Texas Health Science Center with Emergency training and experience. He currently works as an emergency nurse practitioner and frequently performs advanced practice skills. He has extensive experience with hands-on skills and enjoys working with patients and teaching student’s diagnostic skills.

Mrs. Amanda Fernando, MSN, RN, FNP-C is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Post Masters’ Certificate in Emergency Medicine/Trauma from the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. She currently works as a Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department where she frequently performs advanced practice skills. She enjoys empowering other providers grow in knowledge and confidence in their skills. In her free time, she enjoys attending medical mission trips, National Park hopping, collecting plants, and spending quality time with her family.

Mrs. Clementina Scott, MSN, RN, FNP-C is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Post Masters’ Certificate in Emergency Medicine/Trauma from the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. She currently works as a Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department , where she frequently performs advanced practice skills. She enjoys precepting new nurse practitioners by providing them the skills they need to succeed in the field of medicine. Aside from being a busy mom of four boys, she is a foodie that enjoys interior designing, DIY projects, traveling and spending quality time with her family.

Mrs. Kristina Taylor-Lewis, RN MSN FNP-BC ENP-C is a graduate from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Post masters she completed her certificate in Emergency Services. She resides in Belmont, NC with her husband and two children. After several years in the Emergency Department her career has continued in Urgent Care where she continues to provide episodic care and performing simple procedures. She has always enjoyed precepting APP students and particularly loves sharing her skills knowledge and techniques with them. Her newest venture bringing skills instruction to the classroom is very exciting for her. She most enjoys her time with family, walking outdoors and sipping coffee.

Hilma Bochantin MSN, APRN, FNP-C, ENP-C, CEN is a Nurse Practitioner, Board-certified in Family and Emergency medicine. Both her undergraduate and graduate degrees were completed at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where she also obtained a post-graduate certification in Emergency/Trauma care.

She enjoys the opportunity to perform advanced procedures and techniques, which her current work with the University of Texas Medical Branch’s Urgent Care Centers provides daily. She has been committed to providing the best possible care in community-based settings over the course of her 22-year career in Emergency Medicine at different levels.

In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, watching movies, and participating in outdoor activities.

Clinical Instructor

Kennikqua Thompson MSN, APRN, FNP-C, ENP-C is a Nurse Practitioner, board certified in Family and Emergency Medicine. She currently works in an Urgent Care Clinic in Houston and also works part-time in the Emergency Department in Kingwood TX. She has 16 years combined experience as a registered nurse and a Nurse Practitioner.

She has also worked as an Adjunct Nursing Instructor. She is extremely passionate about education, teaching excellent hands-on clinincal skills and helping advanced practice providers excel in the healthcare industry. Outside of teaching she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
